| Resistance has also been an important part of African and indigenous life in the Americas. It will continue to do so until the nation-states that were formed for the benefit of few and to the exclusion of many continue to ignore the disparities fostered by excluding those who have refused to "get with the program" and identify as Hispanics/Latinos and forget the African or indigenous component that continues to be denigrated throughout the Americas. |
La resistencia ha sido una parte
importante de la vida indigena y africana en America, seguirà siendo
asì mientras las ciudades-estados que fueron formadas para el beneficio
de pocos y la exclusión de la mayoría continúe ignorando
las disparidades creadas al excluir a aquellos que se han negado a "acogerse
al programa" e identificarse con el termino de hispanicos/latinos
, los que se han negado a olvidar sus raíces africanas o indìgenas
siguen siendo denigrados a travès de toda America.

| Through their music, their rituals, the culture of Africa has survived the time, the periods of colonization, uniting its batá rythm and other ritual instruments, finding likeness and mixing its gods with the deities of its oppressors, fusing its culture and beliefs with those of its masters taking place in this way the process that today is known as transculturation |
A través de su música,
sus rituales , la cultura de Africa ha sobrevivido al tiempo, los períodos
de colonización, uniendo sus toque de batá y otros instrumentos
rituales, hallando semejanzas y mezclando sus dioses con las deidades
de sus opresores, fundiendo su cultura y creencias con las de sus amos
produciendose de esta forma el proceso que hoy conocemos como transculturaciòn.
