“Celebrating our culture
and protecting our Mother Earth,
Connecting the Environment, Culture and Heritage"

Saturday 04/23/05 & Sunday 04/24/05: Hunab Ku Program at ECO Maya Festival 2005. 10:00 AM TO 7:00 PM

TODAY IS EARTH DAY…

ECO MAYA IS A STREET FESTIVAL THIS YEAR!
SATURDAY APRIL 23 & SUNDAY APRIL 24

LOS ANGELES ECO VILLAGE

117 S. BIMINI PLACE. LOS ANGELES. CA 90004

As Los Angeles continues to expand to accommodate ever larger and more diverse populations, how can we achieve a decent standard of living without sacrificing a better quality of life? What will be the response of political and grass roots leadership as it begins to deeply understand the relationships among environmental, social and economic degradation? How will the communities respond, as their funding gaps grow ever larger? And as more people in less developed areas worldwide aspire to Los Angeles lifestyles, what responsibility will our city take to model living patterns in balance with the planet's life support systems? The L.A. Eco-Village seeks to address these complex issues by demonstrating a different way of being in our city.

COME TO ECO MAYA FESTIVAL 2005! A big street party of many friends FEATURING “THE HUNAB KU PROGRAM” WITH THE CALIFORNIA STORIES AND MAYAN DANCES OF AJPOP TECUN …FRANCISCO AGUABELLA AND HIS AFROCUBAN ENSEMBLE AND MANY OTHER ARTISTS AND MUSICIANS…FREE!

L.A. Eco-Village quiere abordar estos complejos asuntos demostrando ejemplos diferentes de cómo ser y estar en nuestra ciudad.

It is yours for what it has cost you.
It is mine for wath it has cost me.
And it is for all mankind...
Whatever its birth pangs,

(Frank Lloyd Wright in a letter to Aline Barnsdall.)

ECO Maya Mission:
“Celebrating our culture and protecting our Mother Earth, Connecting the Environment, Culture and Heritage",

Our short term goal for the fiscal year 2003-2004 is to facilitate the transnational and multidisciplinary studies from the AfroCuban Research Institute into the developing of the ECO Maya network of transnational communities.

Our long term goal is the expansion of our actual experience on working and living at the Los Angeles Ecovillage: the development of ECO Maya Village; an ecological Mayan cultural environment to host an artist’s community, including residents and non-residents members
